I have been a doctoral student in the Schneider research group since April 2025. Here, I am dedicated to researching and elucidating novel antibiotic substances and mechanisms of action, with an overarching focus on inhibitors of cell wall biosynthesis. In addition, I am working on establishing and validating new reporter strains and assays that help to quickly and efficiently narrow down the target structures of characterizing substances. The aim of this project is to optimize these reporter strains for high-throughput screening so that large quantities of potentially antibiotic substances can be effectively categorized according to their site of action and their mechanism of action can be analyzed in more detail.
